Real Oviedo return with a win
Los Carbayones stay clear at the top
Real Oviedo maintained their five point gap at the top of
Segunda B group one with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Coruxo in their first
game back following the short mid season break. This is Oviedo’s fourth league
win on the trot.
Coach Sergio Egea handed a debut to new signing Redondo who
occupied the left back slot. Youngster Diegui also came in at right back with
David Fernandez and Jonathan Vila continuing their centre back partnership.
Susaeta and Eneko were the preferred wide players with a midfield trio of Jon
Erice, Hector Font and Omgba with Linares leading the line up front. Esteban
was also in goal and captained the side.
Oviedo took the lead on 35 minutes when an Omgba long range
shot deflected off a defender and landed perfectly for Linares to sidefoot home
passed Brais in the Coruxo goal for the first goal of 2015.
Coruxo were reduced to 10 men with a quarter of an hour to
go after Moscardo picked up a second yellow card and Real Oviedo made the extra
man advantage count on 87 minutes when substitute Sene made the game safe. He
latched on to a wonderful through ball from Hector Font to slide pass Brais.
Elsewhere in the league Guijuelo are second and were the big
winners after thrashing Astorga 4-0. Real Murcia move up a place to third after
an impressive 1-0 victory at Valladolid B. UD Logrones are down to fourth spot
after being held 1-1 at home by Langreo. Racing Ferrol increased the pressure
on the top four after beating Lealtad 2-1 despite being down to ten men. Real
Aviles however after a recent revival went down to a disappointing 1-0 home
defeat to Compostela.
Celta B were 2-0 winners over bottom club Marino who now
find themselves 5 points adrift at the bottom of the table and 9 points already
from potential safety. Somozas won a five-goal thriller away at Gijon B whilst
Cultural were 1-0 winners over Zamora and Burgos v Tropezon ended goalless.
Next week we make the short journey north to El
Molinon to face Gijon B. This fixture has been a bit of a banana skin over the
last couple of years but hopefully we can return from Gijon with maximum
points.
