Real Oviedo 5 Celta B 1

Real Oviedo trounce Celta B in ruthless display

Repeat of last year’s score line at Carlos Tartiere

Real Oviedo kept up their 100% home record this season as they brushed aside Celta B in a resounding 5-1 victory over Celta B at the Carlos Tartiere.
It was a repeat of last years score line although this game was maybe not so one-sided as last year as Celta B had chances in this game to make it a bit more awkward than the final score line suggests.
Sergio Egea was up to his old tricks again with team selections surprisingly making just one change to the midweek team with Omgba coming in to replace Generelo.
It took 20 minutes for the opening goal to arrive and it was that man again Linares pouncing on a loose ball in the area to fire in off the post to give Oviedo the lead. Both sides had chances in a busy first half with Esteban coming to the rescue for Oviedo. Linares also had further chances to increase the home sides lead but the score remained 1-0 until the interval. Five minutes after the break came the second goal. Linares held the ball up before finding Hector Font on the left side of the penalty box who whips a left footed cross back for Linares to tap home. On 72 minutes Celta B’s task was made harder when midfielder Borja Dominguez became the third player this week to be dismissed at the Carlos Tartiere when he was sent off for picking up two yellow cards. Just 2 minutes later came the games biggest moment when Linares inside his own half chested the ball down and spotted the Celta B keeper Oscar was way off his line and out of position. He unleashed a volley that bounced past Oscar into the empty net to compete a wonderful hat trick. It was a tremendous strike but the Celta B keeper will be having nightmares when he watches the replay. Celta B striker just moments later tricked his way into the Oviedo area before drilling low and hard past Esteban to pull a goal back for the visitors. It was an impressive goal by a man who also scored against us last season. Five minutes from time and Oviedo restored their 3-goal advantage when Sergio Garcia’s low cross was deflected into his own net by David Goldar. The icing on the cake came in stoppage time when Diego Cervero got to the by line before pulling the ball back for Omgba to tuck home for 5-1.
It completed a very satisfactory day’s work for Real Oviedo and moves us back up to 3rd in the league table. Next week we make the short journey to face Marino De Luanco. Marino find themselves propping up the table with no wins and just 4 points all season. Our target must be to return with all 3 points.
