Real Oviedo triumph at fortress Tartiere again
Linares continues his amazing goal streak
Real Oviedo made it 6 straight league wins at the Carlos
Tartiere against Lealtad thanks to a dominant display and another hat trick
from hitman Linares. The inform striker has now bagged 15 goals in just 11
league games which includes an incredible 8 in his last 3 matches including 2
hat tricks.
As seems often the case in recent games, it didn’t take
Oviedo long to break the deadlock. Just 8 minutes in fact when Susaeta whipped
in a delightful cross for Linares to smartly volley home from 8 yards.
The second goal came on the half hour mark and what a goal.
The move started with Esteban who played the ball out of defence to Hector
Font. The midfielder strode up the pitch before playing a super ball over the
top for Linares to win the ball in the air, turn and volley delightfully over
the on rushing Lealtad keeper to double the home sides advantage. Linares had
other chances to complete his hat trick but it took until 82 minutes were on
the clock for him to do so. Susaeta and Font combined down the right and Font
delivered a cross for Font to volley home. It was a bit of a miss hit in truth
but the accuracy took it into the far corner and the striker wheeled away in
celebration. Omgba grabbed another goal in stoppage time to make it 4-0. A
wonderful left footed volley from the edge of the area after Sergio Garcia’s
pull back to put the icing on the cake.
This result lifts Oviedo up to 2nd in the league
table level on points with Murcia and 1 point behind leaders UD Logrones.
Logrones scored a last minute equaliser away at Cultural in
a 1-1 draw. Murcia also drew by the same score line at Compostela. The 4th
place team Guijuelo also drew 1-1 at home to Valladolid B with Coruxo
surprisingly beaten 3-0 at home by Zamora. Langreo are doing well and are up to
7th place in the table after a 2-0 win at Somozas and last seasons
play off team Racing Ferrol are also into the top half after a 2-1 win at
Burgos.
There were also wins for Aviles and Gijon B after they beat
Celta B 2-1 and basement boys Marino 2-0 respectively. Things are looking bleak
for Marino. They still are without a win and have lost their last 5. In the
other game Tropezon and Astorga drew 1-1 in a result that does neither side
many favours.
Oviedo are really beginning to find some form now and
are scoring goals for fun. That’s 3 wins on the trot scoring 12 goals in the
process. We have scored 30 goals already in our 11 league games which is an
amazing 13 more than any other team. Long may it continue, starting next week
with a trip to another inform team Langreo. Langreo have gained 13 out of a
possible last 15 points available. It’s a short trip for Oviedo though and we
are bound to be roared on by a strong visiting faithful.
