Real Oviedo win to make it back-to-back home wins
Another fine display as Oviedo triumph
Real Oviedo made it two consecutive home league wins and
both by the same 3-1 score line with a confident display against Burgos at the
Carlos Tartiere. Los Carbayones left it late though as it took two goals in the
last 15 minutes to settle this match. Hector Font returned to the starting line
up after missing last weeks trip to Aviles as well as the midweek cup victory.
Omgba was the man to miss out. Apart from this change it was the same team as
for the Aviles draw.
Real Oviedo took the lead after 31 minutes when Nestor
Susaeta was fouled inside the area. The inform winger picked himself up and
sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot.
Burgos had rarely ventured forward at all during the half
but managed to grab an equaliser before the break. Quesada sliding in at the
far post to silence the crowd 2 minutes before the interval.
Despite it being one-way traffic after the break it took
until 75 minutes were on the clock to score the second goal. Again it came from
the spot. This time Burgos were penalised for handball after Bautista’s attempt
to cross into the box. Diego Cervero decided he was going to take this one
after coming on as a substitute. He made no mistake dispatching his penalty
with aplomb into the top corner.
A few minutes later and Real Oviedo added a third. As burgos
pushed forward in search of an equaliser the inevitable happened and Oviedo hit
them on the break and another substitute Sergio Garcia was on hand to expertly
finish the move and slot coolly past the Burgos keeper to make the game safe.
It was another good performance from the boys in blue and
further evidence we are progressing as a team and moving in the right
direction.
This victory lifts us a place up to third in the league
table. Celta B are the surprise leaders after a third successive win. The
latest one an impressive 1-0 away win at Real Murcia. Guijuelo also have
maximum points after winning their first three games. They were also 1-0 away winners after victory at Compostela.
Racing Ferrol let two points slip as they were held to a 2-2
draw at new boys Astorga. UD Logrones had an impressive 2-1 away victory at
Zamora on Saturday evening.
Elsewhere Real Aviles won 3-1 at Gijon B and Union Langreo
picked up their first win beating Marino 1-0. Somozas climbed the table thanks
to a 3-1 victory over next week’s opponents Cultural Leonesa.
Coruxo kept up their impressive start to the season with a
2-1 win over Lealtad in a game that saw three red cards. Vallodolid B were also
winners after a 1-0 triumph at Tropezon.
As mentioned earlier, next week we travel to play
Cultural Leonesa looking for our first win on the road.
